03 / Inspiration

Photography / Documentary
My favourite photographer. I keep coming back to the way his outlook on life appears in the work and in See Know Evil.

Film / Youth culture
A film I return to for its view of 1990s LA skate culture. It connects directly to what I cared about growing up.

Photography / Portraiture
I especially like his portrait work for Stüssy. The images feel relaxed but still precise.

Photography / Music / Documentary
His photographs of musicians feel close and unforced. They are the kind of behind the scenes access I would like to shoot more of.

Book / Creative practice
A useful reminder that personal style comes from what you already know and care about, rather than trying to look completely original.

Book / Creative process
Short notes on the creative process that I go back to when I need to reset how I am working.

Book / Photography / UK culture
The nightlife in this book reminds me of going out in Bristol as a teenager. His wider work on grime and UK youth culture is a major reference for me.

Music / Style / UK culture
The music, clothes and imagery around early grime shaped how I understand UK street culture.

Art / Creative practice
I like how directly he talks about finding a style and ignoring expectations around what art should be.

Documentary / Graffiti / Ownership
A documentary about ownership, history and rivalry in London graffiti. The King Robbo story gives the scene more context than the usual Banksy version.

Brand / Skateboarding / UK culture
I grew up skating and spent time at Southbank while Palace was becoming a major UK brand. It connects skateboarding, clothes and London in a way that still feels close to me.
